Wedding DJs

Previous experience is an essential requirement when you are looking to book a wedding DJ and an understanding of how the day flows is essential. There is the wedding breakfast, the speeches, the cutting of the cake, the first dance, the throwing of the bouquet and the big finish. We believe our customers want to finish their wedding with the party it deserves, leaving great memories of this wonderful occasion.

We have created a comprehensive wedding DJ package that will really meet your needs. It includes:

  • A top quality DJ with an excellent sound system
  • A lightshow
  • Five hour performance time.
  • Unlimited playlist (email us your selection in advance)
  • Your DJ will play any requests from your guests
  • Set up one hour before music start time
  • Perfect size show for your venue.

A popular optional extra is for your DJ to set up his show during the day, leave and return 15 minutes before your music start time. You then have the option for your DJ to leave background music on for your wedding breakfast and you have the use of his wireless microphone for your speeches.

This is a cost effective way of getting background music for your wedding breakfast, plus your DJ will not be disturbing your guests with a later set up. We also have extra lighting options such as up lighting your venue and a trussing system with top quality lasers, moving heads and scanners, which will turn your venue into a nightclub.

We understand that your wedding is one of the most important events in your life, so we think the initial communications are essential for you to gain confidence in us. We ask what stage you are at with the planning, what age groups will be attending your wedding and what style of music you would like. We then use this information to select an excellent DJ for you. Prior to your wedding you can speak with your DJ by telephone or meet with your DJ in person should you prefer.

After your meeting you are then free to decide if you would like to make a booking. Once you have booked it is likely that your venue will require our public liability insurance details and PAT certificate. They may also require us to sign an entertainer’s form to declare that we comply with their health and safety policy. We can take care of all this at the time of booking.

Essex DJs has a top quality team of wedding DJs who are motivated, reliable and friendly with a vast amount of experience playing weddings throughout Essex and London. They have clear microphone technique to make the announcements for the first dance, the cutting of the cake, the throwing of the bouquet and the big finish. They set up their show in appropriate clothing, then change into smart clothing for their performance. During their performance they will play a mixture of music from your playlist, the song requests on the night and draw on their own experience. About Essex DJs

We have supplied mobile DJs for over 25 different kinds of event at hundreds of venues throughout Essex and London. Our experienced DJs can be booked for :

  • engagement celebrations
  • children’s parties

Whilst these are our most popular bookings, we also supply DJs to schools, pubs, high street stores and other companies. The venues we usually play at are function rooms, golf clubs, village halls, community centres, hotels, marquees and social clubs.

At your initial enquiry we find out the what kind of event you are having, the location/venue for  your event, what age groups will be attending and what kind of music you would like. We then use this information to select the right DJ for your event. Prior to your booking you can speak to your DJ on the phone or meet with your DJ in person. After your meeting you are then free to decide if you would like to make a booking.

The founder of Essex DJs is James Cresswell who started DJing during his spare time whilst in the Armed Forces. Each regiment would hold leaving parties and parties at Christmas and James quickly became well known as a DJ.

After leaving the Army, to gain extra income, James decided to continue as a mobile DJ playing at weddings and private parties and, after placing advertisements on postcards in village stores, the first Essex DJs show was completed in October 2003. Since then we have supplied mobile DJs to hundreds of venues throughout Essex and London and we have completed over one thousand bookings. We now have six top quality DJs who have many years of experience in DJing at any kind of event.

Our aim is to play great music, create beautiful shows, entertain the audience and deliver excellent customer service. We supply top quality DJs with lightshows for all types of events such as weddings and other special occasions. The music we play is based on the customer’s taste, the audience requests and the genres of music that they are responding to. We only use top quality sound and lighting equipment to create the perfect atmosphere, and our service is fully backed up to ensure that your event runs smoothly.

We like to go that extra mile and can offer optional extras such as a set up prior to your event and up lighting for your venue. Our mobile DJs are happy to travel to venues throughout Essex and also into London with no event considered to be too small. Most importantly, our DJs care about making each and every event a success.

A DJ cannot join Essex DJs unless they are a member of the South Eastern Discotheque Association. By being a member it means each DJ automatically has £10 Million public liability insurance and employer’s liability insurance specifically tailored to DJs. We also believe that by joining our association, it means that the DJ is serious about doing this job to a high standard and we expect only the highest standards from our members. The association runs regular training and development seminars about how we can improve and do our job better. We learn about all kinds of subjects to help us to give you, the customer, the best possible service.

We have DJs with large rigs and small rigs to cope with any size venue. Please feel free to discuss with us any requirements that you have.

In the unlikely event of equipment failure there is a backup amplifier and speaker kit with spare lights. There are ten DJs with us so you could even be organised with a replacement DJ if something unexpected should happen on the evening.

Every effort is made to ensure that your DJ will attend your event and we have replacement DJs. We take a deposit to secure your booking and confirm your booking in writing. Unlike other companies we will not cancel your booking to fulfil another booking which is willing to pay more.

You will be required to pay a deposit prior to your event. We will invoice you for the remainder one month prior to your booking. You can pay by bank payment or cheque.

Your DJ will be dressed appropriately for your party. Smart clothes will be worn for weddings.
