Dave runs his own business during the week and at weekends he DJs for Essex DJs. Dave started DJ-ing in the 1970s with a friend when mobile DJ-ing began. Their show was called Moonraker disco and they used turntables with vinyl records and a basic lightshow. They played at weddings and birthday parties for friends at local venues. Dave then had a long break away from DJ-ing to start a family and concentrate on his full time job and he returned to DJ-ing when Essex DJs began.
Dave is a natural DJ and he loves what he does. He has a professional attitude to his work and always gives 100%. He is friendly well presented and very approachable. He focuses on playing great music which he thinks his audiences will love rather than concentrating on how the songs are mixed together. He goes through his vast library of music and always looks for songs which he thinks will work well at his shows. He sources music on the internet and watches music channels to keep up to date with recent chart music, something which every DJ should do more often. This makes him a formidable DJ and ideal for weddings and birthday parties where mixing is not really the audience’s priority. Our customers regularly send complimentary emails about Dave and request him specifically for their events. He has good microphone technique and can interact with the audience if that is your preference.
Dave has a very eclectic taste in music. He plays lots of chart music from every decade and has an excellent knowledge of party music which makes him ideal for weddings and birthday parties. Dave is an expert in 60s and 70s music so he is also great for older birthday parties. Dave encourages his audiences to make requests to get a feel for the genres of music they like. From the requests he will then play similar music which the audience are likely to dance to.
Dave uses top quality speakers and has a great lightshow with all the latest effects. He uses a laptop to play mp3 files and cds as a backup. He can increase the size of his show for larger venues and decrease his show when he needs to fit into a smaller area.
Dave is 61 and lives with his wife Lesley in Fordham Heath, Essex. He enjoys playing golf, socializing and walking his dog Jasper.
